Case #180488: Memory space required to run Search index rebuild

Description:

Jive,

With our previous experience of running into memory space issues while executing user index rebuild, we wanted to get your advice this time around as we are fixing a production predictive search issue as referenced in the case - "Predictive Search failure while creating New Discussion." by running search index rebuild on production for two JVMs. Right off the bat we have the following questions in addition to any of your expected suggestions...

1) What do you suggest we have as the available space in /usr/local/jive/applications/sbs/home/search directory with respect to the current DB size? As the process dumps lot of files in this directory.

2) Can we manually delete any files existing in this directory before running the search index rebuild to facilitate space concerns.

P.S. The version we at Sprint use is 4.5.6.2

Your quick response would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Ramesh Rainikindi
