When I want to visit the Jive site, I enter http://www.jivesoftware.com and click on “Login” in the top-most menu. The login page displays, and I fill out the form. Then it opens on the My Account page, My Profile tab http://www.jivesoftware.com/account/view .
At this point, I know I want to get to the Supportal page, but there is no indication on how to get there easily. Looking at the second-from-the-top menu, I see a “Support” link, click on it, and get a Support page http://www.jivesoftware.com/support but there isn’t any link to the Supportal.
Thinking logically, I then click on the “Sitemap” link in the top menu. No Supportal there either.
Next, I try the “Communities” link on the second-from-the-top menu. No Supportal there either, but there is a “Support” link. I click on it and it takes me to “Support Support” http://www.jivesoftware.com/community/community/support . (BTW, this looks like a personal page that I would expect to see after my login instead of the My Account page)
I browse over the page, and I see in the Communities menu “Supportal”! YEA!!!! I click on it, and there you go, I am at the “Support Supportal” page http://www.jivesoftware.com/community/community/support/supportal
It would be nice, since I don’t visit every day, to have a more obvious path to the Supportal. At least list it in the Sitemap. Or on the “Support” page off of the second menu (it is confusing from a user standpoint with all of these “Support” links that go to different pages). Or, better yet, once a user logs in, send them to their unique “Support Support” page. The account is easy enough to access from the “My Account” link in the top menu. AND/OR put a link in My Account to the user’s “Support Supportal” page.
If this is confusing, let me know and I can try again.
