This document outlines what items are included in the Test-Run and Go-Live processes during a Major Upgrade of a Jive Hosted site. Please review this document carefully, and post any questions regarding the inclusions to your upgrade case.
The following system properties are saved in the destination (Site you're upgrading to) database during the noted process.
|Plugins||Jive-supported plugins are installed by Jive Hosting during the Test-Run and Go-Live. These plugins will be noted on the Upgrade Project Document created by Jive Support in your customer group when you request an upgrade.|
|Analytics Database||All Analytics data is copied over.|
|EAE Database||All EAE data is copied over. If the upgrade is from version 4.5 or below, there is no EAE database so one is created for the upgrade site.|
|Binary Storage Data||All binary storage data is copied over. Please Note: Jive customers are responsible for ensuring SSO is set properly after the Test-Run is complete.|
|Search Indices||Search Indices are rebuilt.|
|Themes||Themes created by Jive Professional Services will be managed by PS. Custom themes created by any other sources must be managed by the creator.|
Only the following cutomizations are included:
|Application||Any changes made to the application on the Pre-Production site will not be maintained during a Test-Run or Go-Live, with the exception of the the customizations listed above.|
|Custom WAR||A custom WAR will require an update to be compatible with the new version, and therefore will require a fresh deploy to the new instance.|
|Custom Content||Any custom content or settings created on the existing Production instances will not be copied or retained upon the Test-Run or Go-Live. These settings and content will need to be configured or uploaded to the new upgraded site manually or specifically called out in the Upgrade Project Document.|
