Visual Nav and Case Deflection Plugin High Level Guide

    Image Nav Widget

    This widget very, very closely resembles the out-of-the-box Slide Carousel Widget, both in appearance and configuration.

     

    Configuration:

    Configuration of this widget is does not follow the convention, whereby a place admin configures the widget on the Widget Layout page.  Instead, a configuration link is presented to the admin user when viewing the widget.  This configuration should not be done from the widget layout screen, but rather the Place Overview page.

    Clicking the Add a new link button or the Edit link will bring up a screen very similar to the Slide Carousel Widget configuration screen.  The only difference in the workflow is the absence of the Caption field when adding or editing an image slide.  Beyond that, everything is the same.

     

    User Experience

    Users will see each image specified in the configuration, laid out in an intelligent fashion.

    Answered Questions Widget

    The Answered Questions Widget is configured and functions exactly like the out-of-the-box Unanswered Questions Widget, except that it displays only questions marked as answered.

     

    Deluxe Ask A Question Widget

    The Deluxe Ask a Question Widget is a more configurable and flexible version of the out-of-the-box Ask a Question Widget.

     

    Configuration

    Initial configuration of the widget is begun by clicking the giant link in the widget frame, which is only available to place owners.

    Normal users would see this:

    A previously-configured widget would display as normal, with a Configure link, visible only to the place owner.

    Clicking the configuration link brings up a configuration lightbox where the admin can specify how the widget will behave.

    Call to action text:  This is the text that will display as the placeholder text in the question text box

    Submit button text:  This is the text of the submit button

    Search from:  This specifies where search results will be pulled from as the user types their question.

    • All public places:  The entire Jive community will be searched
    • Single place:  Select this option to specify a single space, group or project from which to pull search results.

    Display results:  Specifies which types of results will be displayed as the user types their question.  These results will appear in separate sections of the results list.Post questions to:  This specifies where the new question will be posted, once the user clicks the submit button.

    • Single place:  Select this option to specify a single space, group or project to which to post the question.
    • User's choice of place:  Selecting this option will bring up a multi-place picker where the admin can add one or more places from which the user posting the question can choose as their target.
    • Place picker title:  This is the title of the popup that will display when the user is prompted to choose a place to which to post their question.
    • Place picker instructions:  This is the instructional text for choosing a question post target place.

    User Experience

    The widget appears just like the original Ask Jive widget, except for the custom text, of course.

    Typing the question will bring up results as the user types.

    Clicking the Search all results links will take the user to either a search or browse screen, depending on the content type and search source.

    When the user does not find the information they need, and clicks the Submit button, if a single place is specified for the Post questions to property, they will be take to the appropriate content creation page, with the place already selected as the destination for the question.  However, if the widget was configured to present the user a list of options, the place selection popup will be displayed.  Upon choosing a destination, the content creation page will be displayed.
