    Using the process outlined below will allow you to reset a particular space's or group's overview page if you are unable to do so via the Manage > Overview Page buttons. This can happen for several reasons, but the most common cause for this is poorly formatted HTML in a Formatted Text or HTML widget.

    Note: This will completely reset the overview page to the default settings.


    Relevant Versions of Jive

    Jive 5, 6, 7, and Cloud.


    Resolution Steps

    1. As the group owner or system admin, create a URL like the following: [YOUR_SITE_URL]/customize-container!reset.jspa?containerType=[CONTAINER_TYPE]&container=[CONTAINER_ID]&method%3Apublish=Publish+Layout. For example, to reset the overview page of the Jive Knowledge Base space, you would use the following URL [YOUR_SITE_URL]/customize-container!reset.jspa?containerType=14&container=4283&method%3Apublish=Publish+Layout. Please see the instructions below on how to determine the correct values for SELECT_TYPE and SELECT_CONTAINER.
    2. You will see the "edit your personalized homepage" widget screen with no styling
    3. Click "Publish"



    The CONTAINER_TYPE value represents the type of container.  For Jive, there are three values based on the container type:

    • Space = 14
    • Social Group = 700
    • Project = 600

    The CONTAINER_ID value represents the unique ID for the container whose homepage you are resetting.


    Determine the correct value for CONTAINER_TYPE and CONTAINER_ID

    To get the CONTAINER_TYPE and CONTAINER_ID, go to your Jive Instance, and click the "Write a Document" or "Start a Discussion" link in the container.  In the URL on the create page, you will see the value for both the CONTAINER_ID and the CONTAINER_TYPE:
