In earlier versions of Jive, we have used the Dev Console and the Apps Market to install and distribute apps. We no longer encourage people to use that method for their apps. With 7.0 and beyond, we suggest you install and distribute all apps using the Add-on mechanism. This mechanism allows you to install and deploy apps directly through the management settings within your Jive community.
When installing an app as an add-on, you can either host your own assets or create a Jive-hosted app (available with the Fall 2014 Jive Cloud release).
