Version 8

    Why can't I remove or disable the 'Apps' menu link from Jive?

    After disabling the Apps Market in Jive's Admin Console, you may notice that you still see the Apps menu in the header navigation bar of your Jive site.

    In Jive 7, you may still see the "Apps" menu if you have custom Add-Ons installed. These Add-Ons can come packaged with Apps, which can cause the menu to still show.  It is recommended that you remove any custom Add-Ons that you know come with custom Apps.

    Additionally, users with Full Access permissions may continue to see the Apps menu, even after disabling Apps in your Jive instance.

    If you are using Jive 8 you can force the "Apps" menu to be hidden by setting the following system property:

    jive.appstab.always.show = false

    Jive Cloud Communities

    If you manage a Jive Cloud community, and you wish to hide the Apps market menu, you can file a new support case with your request to disable the apps menu item. Our support team will then be able to hide this menu item for you through a configuration change.

    This configuration option is not available in Jive 7. Hiding the app menu item in Jive 7 must be done by disabling the "Jive Apps" in the admin console at Admin Console: Add-ons > App Settings:
