The District Communications Group - Community Specialist (Account Coordinator)

    The DC Group is looking for candidates with relevant experience in communications, digital outreach, and/or social media to serve as a Community Specialist on a dynamic collaboration platform implementation project in Alexandria, VA.  The Community Specialist role supports enterprise deployment of a web-based collaboration platform for a federal government client.

    The successful candidate will support the Community Management team in creating, managing, and growing a vibrant online community.  Specific responsibilities of this position include:

    • Developing communications, outreach, and user onboarding materials
    • Supporting coordination and communication activities including reporting, meeting management, and action item tracking
    • Gathering metrics and identifying user activity trends to improve community adoption
    • Organizing editorial and content calendars, including sourcing and qualification of information; maintaining in up-to-date condition
    • Supporting system demos, user outreach, training, and onboarding activities
    • Learning key platform functionality to resolve basic end user support requests
    • Coordinating logistics for user training and onboarding sessions, system demos, and other events
    • Providing knowledge management guidance and support, maintaining team files and ensuring consistency with established version control and document management processes
    • Participating in project team and client meetings
    • Performing quality assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) reviews on work products and deliverables


    Required Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or related)
    • 1-2 years of strategic communications and digital/social media engagement experience
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Great presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
    • Excellent writing and editing skills (Please provide writing samples)
    • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Familiarity with industry-leading community and social media platforms (Jive, Yammer, SharePoint, Chatter, etc.)
    • Familiarity with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
