The following PDFs are provided for your use in preparing for the Winter 2015 release. They contain draft documentation for all the upcoming features in the context of the entire Jive documentation set. (For a quick overview of what is new, see the Winter 2015 Cloud Release: Upgrade and Onboarding Guide.) Because product development is iterative and documentation follows it, changes may still happen before the release, and the feature descriptions in these drafts thus can't be guaranteed to reflect every detail of the product at release time.
Read This Before You Dive In!
This release contains a significant feature toggle that turns on a major feature (News) that is also linked to substantial changes in navigation--how your users receive and find information in the community will change when News is enabled. Your upgraded instance will have this toggle turned OFF. The documentation for the main application we've provided here assumes it is turned ON. We chose this approach so that you can use this documentation to prepare for the next release, at which time all communities will have News and the new navigation will be turned on for everyone. You can get that functionality sooner if you enable News before then. A full description of the changes is provided in All About the News Feature.
Your navigation with News turned OFF will not be any different from what your end users currently see, although the other new features described in Winter 2015 Cloud Release: Upgrade and Onboarding Guide, which are not tied to News, will be present.
At release time, we'll provide an alternate documentation set that reflects News toggled off, and users who access Help from the Help menu will get Help that's correct for their instance. When you toggle News on, the Help will redirect to the updated Helpset that includes the new features and navigation.
