    Dealertrack is currently looking for a Community Manager to join our HR Internal Communications team in either Burlington, VT, Dallas, TX, or Lake Success, NY.


    Job Overview:


    Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications, the Community Manager, will oversee the current intranet and lead the project to build a new social intranet for the company using Jive Software. This person will lead the design, navigation, user experience and content efforts for the new social intranet platform and is responsible for building an interactive and engaged online community as well as ensuring platform adoption of Dealertrack’s new corporate intranet.


    The Community Manager will serve as editor, content creator, and content manager, helping develop and implement a digital and social strategy and editorial calendar for the intranet. In addition, the person will be responsible for developing and managing a governance structure, content management plan, and measuring overall program effectiveness. This position will also have dotted line responsibility over intranet content creators within the Internal Communications team.




    Technology and Implementation:


    • Play lead role, in coordination with implementation team, in the implementation of the new intranet technology for the company
    • Work with vendor, professional services, and internal teams to create a visually appealing and user-friendly platform
    • Lead migration efforts off of legacy platforms
    • Lead efforts to create an engaging platform using Jive Software
    • Lead implementation efforts, in coordination with implementation team
    • Manage technology in coordination with IT team
    • Continue to innovate within the system by exposing and sharing new features, functionality, and options that meet stakeholder needs


    Communications and Content:


    • Manage corporate communications on the homepage to ensure timely, relevant, and engaging companywide content
    • Work with teams and content owners to create content plans and editorial calendars
    • Manage, edit, and create content – articles, news, blogs, etc. –that supports overall communications strategy
    • Work with key stakeholders to find creative solutions to their communication/collaboration challenges using the platform
    • Coordinate internal campaigns where the Intranet is the primary communications platform
    • Develop the platform’s content strategy with the Director, Internal Communications
    • Engage content contributors and manage and edit contributions




    • Play lead role in roll out of new platform to company
    • Gain and maintain stakeholder support by delivering value through the platform
    • Evangelize Dealertrack’s new intranet as the company’s single communications tool
    • Own and develop social intranet strategy to drive deeper collaboration across teams and greater communication across the company
    • Develop an ongoing training and engagement plan for users and potential users
    • Provide guidance and support for users to create, grow, and sustain social spaces/online communities within the platform


    Process Responsibilities:


    • Create and oversee intranet governance model that drives consistency, accountability, and usability across the platform
    • Create and oversee a content management plan
    • Identify meaningful metrics and monitor performance and usage statistics to inform strategy and improve the user experience
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to create tools and workflows that drive productivity and collaboration


    Skills and Experience:


    • Experience with Jive Software is required
    • Minimum 3-5 years in managing internal or external communities
    • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or related field
    • Demonstrated fluency and understanding of social media platforms and building social communities
    • Ability to write and edit content that is engaging, grammatically correct, and pertinent
    • Able to create and project manage a plan from start to finish
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to interact across all employee levels
    • Ability to meet deadlines, be responsive, and act with urgency
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Effective at working in a cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders
    • Possess business acumen and awareness of audience needs
    • Driven, self-starter comfortable with building projects and programs from the ground up with minimal guidance
