This is a guide for how to follow places - Spaces, Groups & Projects - in the AureaWorks community. Following places is the best way to get notified when new content is posted, modified or commented on. Depending on your preference settings, you will be notified in your AureaWorks inbox only. If you would like to be notified in your email, please see Set-Up Email Notifications and Preferences.
Note: sending all updates to your email, especially if you are following multiple places, may end up crowding your email. We recommend logging into AureaWorks and checking your inbox regularly instead.
How to Follow Spaces
To follow a space, click on Follow in the top right corner and make sure to check inbox so you will be notified in your inbox every time new content is posted, modified or commented on.
How to Follow Groups
Similar to spaces, groups have a Follow button in the top right corner. The only difference is the addition of an extra button to the right of the Follow button. To follow the group, hit Follow and make sure to check inbox so you will be notified in your inbox every time new content is posted, modified or commented on.
If the group type is Open, you will also see an option to Join Group to the right of the Follow button. When you join the group, you will be listed as a member under the People tab and automatically follow the place, but it will not send notifications to your inbox. You will still need to click on Follow and select Inbox. Assuming you want updates to your AureaWorks inbox, you always want to make sure the Follow button says Following in 2 streams. You do not have to Join a public group in order to follow it.
How to Follow Projects
You probably will not need to follow any projects while you are here in AureaWorks unless you are a customer working with Professional Services on a project in your support group. In case you need to follow a project, it is the same concept as spaces and groups. Even if you are following into your inbox the group that the project was created in does not mean you will follow the project to your inbox automatically. Make sure to click on Follow in the top right corner and select inbox.
How to Follow Blogs
Some places encounter a lot of activity. For instance, members asking questions, posting discussions, document updates and more. This can fill up your AureaWorks inbox quickly, and sometimes critical information is only relayed through blogs. If you find this is the case, you can also opt to follow only the blogs in a given space. Please note that sometimes documents are used to relay important information which will not trigger a notification if you are only following the blog section. Before following the blog section of a space, make sure to check existing content to confirm that what is important to you is only relayed through blogs.
To follow a blog, you will need to add "blog" to the space url. For example, https://community.jivesoftware.com/community/about-the-community would become https://community.jivesoftware.com/community/about-the-community/blog (and we do recommend following the blog section of AureaWorks Help since we do see a lot of questions posted, and all critical information is relayed through blogs).
Select Follow in the top right corner and make sure to hit Inbox from the options to get notified in your inbox.
