    Summary

    San Manuel Band of Mission Indians is seeking a Community Manager that will join the Information Technology team to meet the needs for collaboration and communication with employees. Reporting to the IT Business Communication Manager, this individual will be responsible for assisting in the strategy development and management of San Manuel’s communities, co-developing engaging programming, and driving engagement.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Engage closely with business units to consult on how to get the most value out of the community
    • Generate report metrics consisting of both qualitative and quantitative measurements that helps San Manuel evaluate growth and success
    • Develop a plan for community improvements and how new use cases will be brought on board
    • Mentor and advise designated space/group community managers to help them curate and optimize their respective social channels
    • Present to Tribal Leadership, executives and senior management on community strategy
    • Facilitate employee-wide trainings on community best practices
    • Develop and enforce consistent governance policies and procedures
    • Lead by example in promoting a professional, positive, and active customer community
    • Motivate and engage community users daily; create excitement around community initiatives
    • Monitor community for unanswered questions, untagged items, and misplaced posts to ensure the community search is directing accurate results
    • Coordinate with business units to represent community management best practices and case studies
    • Identify community advocates to help champion best practices and groups
    • Stay up to date on the latest community platform and social trends
    • Mentor, train, and respond to assistance requests by Tribal Leadership, Executives, and Department Employees as needed

     

    Education/Experience/Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field required
    • A combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of educational requirement
    • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in managing an organizational community
    • Must be comfortable presenting to management, executives, and Tribal leadership
    • Must be able to work in fast-paced, high performance environment with tight deadlines
    • Must possess strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical resources
    • Hands-on and self-driven executor
    • Passionate about community best practices, principles, concepts, and technologies
    • Ability to develop strategies and community development roadmaps for future direction and planning
    • Ability to develop materials and effectively deliver training programs to all levels of San Manuel employees and leadership
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a geographically-distributed workforce
    • Ability to work across all functional organizations as well as levels in the organization
    • Multi-tasker who understands how to develop tactical plans that align with the company's strategic direction
    • Experience with Jive, SharePoint, and Skype for Business preferred
    • Customer Service experience preferred


    Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

    • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
