    Steps to configure Admin Essentials Add-on

     

    The add-on enables different user groups to access the following standard features:

    • Add Members (Single / Bulk)
    • Rename Social Group URL
    By default, all Social Group Administrators (of the related Social Group) can access the "Bulk Add Group Members" feature of Admin Essentials add-on.

    To enable user access additionally for the add-on feature: "Rename URL":

    1. Go to Jive Admin Console > People > Create User Group. Enter the Group name: A_URL Rename Permission Group.

    2. Add the concerned Social Group Administrators as Member(s) to this group.

    3. Go to 'All Add-ons' > Admin Essentials. Click on the gear icon > Settings > (Rename URL) Apps security.

                      

    4. Remove 'All registered users' (default settings) and add A_URL Rename Permission Group as group. Click on Save Changes.

    The App User Groups have been updated successfully!

    To use the Admin Essentials add-on features in a Social Group:

    5. Go to the Landing Page of the concerned Social Group, where the Add-on is to be configured. Select Manage > Settings.

    6. Click the gear icon to change the advanced Social Group settings.

     

    7. The following screen is displayed with the add-on actions:

    Social Group Administrators (of the related Social Group) who are NOT members of the predefined user group: "A_URL Rename Permission Group", will not be able to access "Rename Group URL" feature of the Admin Essentials add-on.

    8. To perform admin-related functions using this app, select the relevant action from the screen display, as explained below:

    Add Members

    8a. Administrator can individually add members (without invite).

    1. Go to the Group where members are to be added individually without inviting them.

    2. Click on Manage > Settings of the group.

    3. Click on 'Enable Features and Activity' > gear icon.

    4. Click on Add Members. Follow the instructions on the screen display.

    Add Members (Bulk)

    8b. Administrator can add several members in bulk while skipping the general invitation/accept/approval process for group membership.

    1. Go to the Group where members are to be added in bulk without inviting them.

    2. Click on Manage > Settings of the group.

    3. Click on 'Enable Features and Activity' > gear button.

    4. Click on Add Members (Bulk). Follow the instructions on the screen display.

    Rename Group URL

    8c. Administrator can change the name and URL of the social group.

    1. Go to the Group where members are to be added in bulk without inviting them.

    2. Click on Manage > Settings of the group.

    3. Click on 'Enable Features and Activity' > gear button.

    4. Click on Rename Group URL.

    5. Select Unlock Rename Form

    6. Provide the new group URL as indicated.

    7. Click on Rename Group to save the settings.
