Version 12

Custom missions are a great way to drive behavior or attention specifically. The information found in the Jive Advanced Gamification Module (Bunchball): Admin Documentation is a good start, but you may find that getting the metadata to do exactly what you want to do is trial and error sometimes. As you build your custom missions, share how you got it to work.

Please edit the document to add your mission, trigger(s) and metadata you used. For data that is variable, write in bold so we can differentiate it from the metadata. Remember that the metadata is case-sensitive too so be accurate

threadID : (found in url, /thread/#####) -> Discussions have two different URLs: one containing "message" and one containing "thread". You need the one containing "thread", which is found in the Recent Content widget/tile, or on the Content tab, NOT at the top of the actual discussion. Also, the numbers are different for both (i.e. the same question has one ID for the message URL, and a different ID for the thread URL)

A good way to verify the metadata formatting is to do the following:

    1. In Jive complete the "Action" that you want to track within the Gamification system, e.g. Reply to a specific thread
    2. Log into the Gamification admin console and go to the User tab
    3. Search for your User ID  in the top right
    4. Go to the "Actions" section and find the row that corresponds to the action you took within Jive
    5. In this row you can find the various pieces of metadata that you can reference when you configure your mission.
