Version 4

    If you want to embed a video from a common video hosting provider such as Vimeo, Google, or YouTube, you can simply use the Insert Video tool in the Rich Text Editor.  However, you will need to take a few extra steps to embed your own personal video.  You must be a community administrator to perform these steps.

    1. First you will need to allow access to the domain the SWF file is hosted on.  This is because Flash videos are inherently insecure; they allow the execution of JavaScript code which opens the security vulnerability of cross site scripting.  Be sure to only add domains that you trust.
      In the Admin Console, go to Spaces > Settings > Filters and Macros.  Scroll to the bottom of this page.  Under the Post Processing Filters section open the Settings for HTML.  Add your domain to the list of allowedDomains.

      Do not include any sub-domain in the list.  For example, if your video is hosted at http://flash.mydomain.com/ you would only insert mydomain.com
    2. You can now insert you video into any piece of content.  When writing your message, use the Insert Raw HTML macro.

    3. Use the following HTML to embed your video
      <embed src= "http://flash.mydomain.com/myflashvideo.swf"
      quality="high" width="300" height="500" allowScriptAccess="always" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
      flashvars="" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>

      Be sure to include your src URL as well as the width and height of your video.  If you are copying and pasting this HTML, you will want to paste into a plain text editor (such as Notepad) then re-copy the HTML first.  This is so that it does not paste any of the HTML styling associated with the example.
