Quick Tips: Using SIRI to Create a Jive Post

Version 2

If you've already mastered using email to create Jive posts, you can modify it slightly so you can use SIRI on your iPhone to create quick Jive content!

Why would this be helpful? Well, maybe you are on the road and you think of something you want your team to start discussion. Tell SIRI to post the discussion for you, and let the replies start coming in while you finish reaching your destination!

    To start a discussion post

First, note that as with the previous quick tip, you need a different vCard for every place you want to create a discussion post.

    Create your iPhone contact

    1. Go to the place you want to be able to do this
    2. In the "Actions" section, choose "create by email"
    3. In the choice menu, choose the "discussion" option
    4. Select to email the vcard
    5. From the vcard, copy the email alias for the space/group
    6. Email this to yourself so that you can copy it from your iPhone (much easier and fewer typos this way!)
    7. In your iPhone contact list, create a new contact - Create a unique contact name to make it easy, both for you and for SIRI
    8. In the contact email section, paste in the vcard email alias info from the email you sent yourself
    9. Once the email alias info is entered, save the contact
    10. You now have a discussion contact that SIRI can use!

    Create your discussion post

    1. Activate SIRI, and tell her to send an email to "Jive Working Group" (or whatever your contact name was)
      • You have to tell SIRI it's an email  (text messages do not work)
    2. She'll ask for a Subject
    3. She'll ask for the Message
    4. Have her send it, or click Send on your phone screen
