Missions add a gamification approach to learning the environment. But do they become their own self-fulfilling prophecy? Do users become so enamored with completing these quests, that they don't take value from the learning exercise. Many of the Missions are completed by just doing a non-business activity - simply putting a few words in a document allows you complete the document mission - but is there a link to the business requirement of using the JiveSpace, some intrinsic value?
Missions need to be tailored and managed to allow users to gain the knowledge but to also add value to the organization. In addition, Missions need to be curated. Not all Missions are appropriate for all users, so there needs to be a way to segment these missions so that they are available to the audiences.
