Testing for the HP installation and noticed there is an option to provide LinkedIn credentials. Beyond the social aspect, which I get, I cannot see why Jive would integrate the installer with a LinkedIn option. This plug-in is for business purposes not social networking.
After completing the installation I noticed Twitter and Facebook are on the list as well.
So, the more I play with this it seems to make sense. I think however it might be beneficial if LinkedIn part was not associated with the installation process. I can only imagine the flood of emails from people asking if they must have a LinkedIn account or whether or about the privacy implications of providing these credentials as part of the installation process.
