We currently do not support the manual editing of preferences in Nitro Studio. We have had plans to add it in the future, but were not aware the urgency within our Jive AGM community. This is in fact the first I've heard of this usage of user preferences for leaderboard exclusion ("Anonymous=1" flag).
Can you give me a feel for the frequency of this process?
The short term workaround is to edit the preference through the legacy Admin Console. The link to that is in this FAQ if you need it: FAQ - Advanced Gamification Module Upgrade / New Nitro Features
Typically the usage of user preferences is for mission segmentation, which is not a built-in Jive AGM feature. Thus editing of user preferences is through API only.
Hi Sanford Ross,
We use the the "Anonymous = 1" flag in Preferences as well to suppress Admins from appearing in Leaderboards. The flag is still there from the old UI but I need to add this preference for additional users.
How do you suggest we suppress users from appearing in the LeaderBoards, such as Admins? I've read your documentation and FAQs and I can't seem to figure out how to do this.
I referred to the FAQ just to get the legacy Admin Console URL, as it's the only short term workaround. Here it is: https://legacy-gamification.console.bunchball.net/. From there you can lookup a user and modify preferences.
I'll look into bumping up the Nitro Studio capability higher in priority.
Sorry for my late response, but to answer the question our use of this functionality is very similar to what Delia explained. We remove space admins and Moderators from the leaderboards. Because those groups are so active in the community we do not want them always displayed at the top. It can be discouraging to the average user if the same people, who's jobs are to work in the community, are always at the top of the leaderboard. We have some moderators who also work on rotation, so when they are not required to be moderating we want them to be able to experience the benefits of the leaderboards like the rest of the community.
I will go ahead and give the workaround a try. Thank you!
