Hi Richard Tollerton,
I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with Firefox. Are you experiencing this issue only with AureaWorks or do you see the same behavior when you open your own Jive instance in multiple tabs in Forefox?
Best,
Sarah-

Hi Richard Tollerton, thank you for the confirmation. I'll go ahead and test from my side and submit a support case, but I also recommend that you submit a support case to get the issue addressed. Sam Bhatti, as the administrator of your support group, please consider either submitting a case on Richard Tollerton's behalf or inviting him to the support group.

Richard Tollerton, I just tested in Firefox and Chrome. When I opened 8 AureaWorks tabs in Firefox, CPU spiked to 90% and then immediately dropped. Even while I was navigating on the pages, CPU increased minimally. For Chrome, I opened 8 tabs and it spiked even higher than Firefox had, which also returned back to normal once the pages loaded.
Is this what you are seeing as well, or do you see it maintained at 90% even after loading?-
Re: Why is Jive trying to kill Firefox?
rtollert May 14, 2018 11:53 AM (in response to sarah.omeara)OK, I suppose I was a little loosey-goosey with my steps to reproduce before. Here's something I just verified works every time on Firefox both Windows and Linux. I do not believe it requires login beforehand. (EDIT: this also reproduces without any additional add-ons or prefs changes.)
- Open the Jive Internal Communities - Content page: http://community.jivesoftware.com/groups/internal-community-managers/content
- Open the first 10 or so documents listed in the content list.
To give you an idea of the magnitude of the issue, here's a quick chart I just did of the CPU/memory usage after doing that on my development machine (6 cores, hyperthreading enabled, 40GiB RAM). I open the tabs at around the 3-4 second mark. The "loading" indicator on all of the tabs doesn't disappear IIRC until 30-40 seconds in, but there's no real network traffic going on, and almost all rendering across all tabs stops while the CPU usage is pinned between seconds 10-55.

Hi Richard Tollerton, thank you for the in depth explanation! I went ahead and submitted a support case specifically for AureaWorks.
Since this is also occurring on other Jive instances, please make sure to submit a ticket to your support group where Support will work directly with you. Let me know if you have trouble getting in contact with your Jive instance system administrator or getting access to your support group.-
