Erin Haines Aug 22, 2018 2:08 PM (in response to Nik Edmiidz)Awesome - and I'm thinking you could choose to display the "top liked" from the entire community, specific places or even specific content types?

lhallam Aug 23, 2018 1:04 AM (in response to Erin Haines)1 person found this helpfulMy users are always confused that the document viewer tile only works based on native docs rather than Word etc. So, would a tile to view a broader range of content be possible? Or maybe something that does tag/wordclouds

Re: Social Edge is building a new tile & we want your input!
Stuart McIntyre Aug 23, 2018 1:27 AM (in response to Erin Haines)4 people found this helpfulA projects and tasks tile.
This is one area where we've lost almost all functionality as part of the widgets-to-tiles transition, and there is no real way to display projects in a place, project status (end date, owner, progress etc.) or tasks within the project.
I'd love the see the SE team attack this requirement and bring projects back up to what they once were...

Erin Haines Aug 23, 2018 6:31 AM (in response to Stuart McIntyre)2 people found this helpfulI hear this one a lot - especially around displaying project tasks. For displaying projects, Superlist can be helpful and our Place Grid Tile can provide a nice visual for a group of places, but there are not always options to filter the projects by status, owner, progress etc.

Re: Social Edge is building a new tile & we want your input!
Stuart McIntyre Aug 23, 2018 8:35 AM (in response to Erin Haines)1 person found this helpfulAgreed on Place Grid.
Many users find the Super List tile pretty tough to make work for them though , particularly for projects - as the Projects tab does not have the 'use this view in a tile' link. Also, the styling is hugely uninspiring, at least in HOP environments - I know that the tile has had an upgrade on Cloud.
Just thinking this area needs a sprinkle of Social Edge magic! :-D

Stuart McIntyre Aug 23, 2018 1:31 AM (in response to Erin Haines)5 people found this helpfulVideo Gallery tile.
A way to automatically list all videos in a place, multiple places or within the community, allowing for a 'now playing' and 'up next' style experience.
It would be worderful if this could also enable manual curation of videos as well, perhaps in 'playlists' (say for training purposes), but tbh, anything that goes beyond the featured and embedded video options would be a-mazing!

4 people found this helpfulI second a video tile. It is very frustrating that I can't easily put a video into a tile unless it is featured in the place where the tile goes. I need to be able to put up a video from anywhere in the community onto any place in 30 seconds. Video content is what ppl want to consume.

Erin Haines Aug 23, 2018 7:05 AM (in response to Keeley Sorokti)I'll add: being able to feature the internal videos easily on the news/homepage in a tile as well.

oonagh.m Aug 23, 2018 9:58 AM (in response to Erin Haines)3 people found this helpfulI second Keeley on the video tile! I'd add it would be great to have some kind of library function for videos, or a way to display them that makes visually clear they're videos, maybe similar to a Youtube window, where the main video plays and related videos appear in a queue on the side or below.
It would be so useful to us to determine which videos show up where, feature videos, or even just get better previews!

Re: Social Edge is building a new tile & we want your input!
Erin Haines Aug 24, 2018 6:48 AM (in response to dmudgett)Interesting! Are you thinking it would pull content that is old/has little activity (e.g. no views/activity for X time frame)? Maybe content and places?

Re: Social Edge is building a new tile & we want your input!
dmudgett Sep 5, 2018 9:26 AM (in response to Erin Haines)Hi Erin - I was thinking about it from the content point of view, exactly - either from a space/subspaces or more widely. But I can see the case for places as well - dead places.

Re: Social Edge is building a new tile & we want your input!
Andrew Kratz Aug 27, 2018 5:20 AM (in response to Erin Haines)3 people found this helpfulI was thinking about some advice I received that clients don't buy products, they buy business outcomes and results. I thought this might be inspirational to generate additional ideas for our next tile build.
When you think about the main use cases in your community what challenges exist preventing you from having better usage and adoption? Where is the process just not working to create massive results, fast, for that business use?
Our current tiles looked to level-up the need to curate (draw attention to key content). discover (better search and display content of a particular type), and guide (organize and navigate complexity).
What additional tiles would improve your business outcome?
Thanks so much for your input!

Nothing worse than a question getting missed because it was posted at 2 am was bumped by the author several times but never got answered because of the time of posting and it getting lost in the mix. Many times the title is horrible but from a moderation perspective if the mods had a way to easily see which questions weren't answered that never got a reply from another member it would be helpful to isolate them in busy communities. Also offer an option to sort from Oldest to newest so you could do a First in First Out approach and knock things out from oldest to newest.
When looking at a grid of unanswered questions I look to see what questions have 0 replies to see if I can increase my likelihood of providing a correct answer. If it shows replies but there is no indication that the only replies are from the original author I don't know any different and avoid looking since the opportunity seems diminished.

amara_mastronardi Sep 12, 2018 1:07 PM (in response to Erin Haines)Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread with their awesome tile ideas! We are currently working on a short list of new tiles based on the suggestions we've heard. We will post a survey in this space for you to vote on next week. The survey results will be a very important aspect of determining the next tile we build.
Stay tuned and keep the ideas coming! -

I know the built in tile is being upgraded for Jive Cloud, but I'm sure Social Edge Consulting could come up with an even better version.

Re: Social Edge is building a new tile & we want your input!
amara_mastronardi Sep 24, 2018 8:01 AM (in response to Erin Haines)1 person found this helpfulThanks everyone for your new tile suggestions! We've taken all of the feedback we've received in this thread into consideration in order to develop this list of frontrunners:
- Activity Tile: Use this tile to place a true activity stream on any tile-compatible page in Jive. Configure it to show specific content types from Places based on unique tags and other parameters. As edits or replies are added, the feed automatically updates.
- Content Tile: Curate Jive content (e.g., Blogs, Documents, Uploaded Files) in this tile with one or more visually appealing themes (e.g., a grid or stacked layout). Provides images and configurable details about the piece of content to signal its value.
- Event Tile: The Event Tile drives greater participation by providing configurable details about the event (e.g., what and when). Uses available imagery. It dynamically pulls Events from selected Places or allows a moderator to curate a list of Events.
- People Tile: People are arguably the most important aspect of Jive. This tile will highlight people in the community with configurable details such as name, title, location, and team. It also encourages people to connect by providing a “Follow” button right on the tile.
- Video Tile: Present a video in this tile with play/pause controls. It also provides an “up next” playlist with thumbnails and the ability to manually curate that playlist. Also, override the default thumbnail with a custom image. Can be used in any place including the home page for both internal or external stored video content.
Now it's up to you! VOTE HERE for the new tile you'd like to see added to the Tiles by Social Edge collection!
