gialyons Oct 22, 2010 7:26 AM (in response to Renee.Harper)Welcome, Renee! Great to hear that you're upgrading to a more current version of Jive. As you probably have seen, there are many more capabilities in our later releases. If it helps, our strategy consulting folks can assist your team in understanding how to use those new capabilities to help SAS reach your business objectives - this is a common path many of our Jive Forums customers have taken, and planning how to communicate the use of new capabilities is critical to upgrade success (believe me, I've seen what happens when you don't do this. Not pretty. )
By the way, you might be interested in browsing or joining the External Community Managers group and connect with other Jive customers who manage external-facing communities.

lroquet Nov 1, 2010 2:25 PM (in response to gialyons)Hi. My name is WHAT, sorry...Lee Roquet, I work as VP of CS at Marketron, spend most of my time speaking the gospel of social media to whoever will listen--been growing the believers one person at a time. I have pushed the rock up and over the hill and we are turning the corner and looking at SBS for our internal and external customers. I have been working for years to transition our traditional support to a collaboration and engagement model and now it looks like we are re-inventing our business as a social beast from the ground up. Looking for ways to kick start our project plan, find a solid fit for a SBS provider, and to keep on learning as our whole world changes. Thanks.

Saw your friend invite but since PM isn't turned on I didn't know how to otherwise get in touch with you. Saw a Comcast email account on your profile but thought that was personal account vs business account.

I am an independent consultant who has worked with many companies to implement their Jive SBS platform (internal and external). I help to bridge the gap between IT and Business. I assist with business strategy, community strategy, launch and scale planning. Basically, I work in all areas of implementing Jive or I can work on specific areas or challenges like strategy, BRD, change-management planning, wire-framing, requirements gathering, user focus-groups, dashboard creation, PR, and traction campaigns. i do a lot of work with IRS tax forms. One problem came up in that the editable IRS forms the color of the text placed in the editable fields comes up as blue.
How does one change this to black?

gialyons Feb 3, 2011 11:39 AM (in response to black_stone350)Hello blackstone,
This is a community for people who are interested in using Jive community software for various purposes inside and outside their organizations. Did you by chance mean to post this in the Adobe help forums, which happen to run on Jive community software?

bg2dot0 Mar 4, 2011 7:23 AM (in response to gialyons)Hi Gia
Bruce Galinsky frm Metlife. As you predicted when we met at e20 we are now starting to evaluate JIVE for our enterprise needs. My focus for the last couple of years has been introducing and implementing a Knowledge management capability within Metlife, using a customized sharepoint application - which of course is very document focused. I am trying to understand how this KM capability translates, evolves and hpefully can be matured by using JIVE as the front end to our Sharepoint document management capability. Found an excellent blog post by Jen Bouani on this topic, also talking to your sales support team soon - but was wondering if there were other resources you can point me to so I can start thinking about this potential transition.
thanks

gialyons Mar 4, 2011 7:34 AM (in response to bg2dot0)Hey Bruce! Glad you finally made it. I would suggest joining Internal Community Managers at the very least. How about this: after you join that group, post a question asking for those who'd like to form a new group here in the Jive Community about the topics you describe. Also, what is your priority? Using Jive for KM, or using Jive as a front-end to SharePoint? The reason I ask is that, if you do decide that a separate group would be useful, it's best to pick a primary topic, in my experience. I'll be happy to create the group for you and make you the owner.
Otherwise, we can keep this simple and just start a thread in the Internal Community Managers group and grow from there. This is the way to get the most eyeballs on your topic initially, of course.
We have a few prospective customers who are looking at evolving their KM practice to use Jive Software as well. When the time is right, I'll connect you.

bg2dot0 Mar 4, 2011 8:20 AM (in response to gialyons)JIVE for KM vs JIVE as front end..that is really the question I need to answer. We have already migrated a substantial number of documents to sharepoint "gold copy" repository over the last 18 months. This is the foundation for our KM implementation. So I think we'll still have a requirement to search and augment that gold copy data store. We also use SP wikis and discussions but I assume migration to JIVE there is relatively easy to accomplish. So I'm thinking that we continue to rely on our gold copy repository, while incorporating JIVE to provide a more e20 KM experience. Does that make sense? Are there customers (that you know of) that are on the same track? We also have hundreds of team SP team sites - many of which contain s substantial number of documents and content - which I think are an easier transition to JIVE project or group spaces.
