    Social adoption success measures

Hi- I'm interested in learning how other organizations are using the 4 phases of social adoption (early adoption, critical mass adoption, mainstream adoption, sustained adoption) to measure progress toward achieving a social business?  I have read that "critical mass" is considered 20% of the workforce actively using the social platform.  Is this a metric that is widely used?  What are the success metrics for mainstream adoption and sustained adoption?  How are you measuring these later phases of adoption?  Also, how many months (???) are you typically spending in each phase of social adoption?  We are getting ready to move into a pilot, but are looking out ahead and trying to plan our social evolution roadmap.  Thanks!!
