They don't know what they don't know...

One thing my group has noticed as we've gotten more connected to our end user population via surveys is many times they are very unaware of what functionality does exist. We always try to have at least one free-text field on every survey we send out. We've noticed that we have users often time state..."it would really be nice if it did xxx" in some cases it would be an enhancement, but in a lot of cases its functionality that already exists. We then go through and flag these responses and reach out to those users and point them to our "How To" documentation on the topic. This helps our adoption a great deal, but also adds a nice personal touch as well. It lets the population know we actually DO look at the survey data and take action against it.
