Tried to upload an avatar. Upload did nothing, no
error. Image was .tiff. Tried saving as .png, was
able to upload (so, need error message or contextual
help about acceptable image types.)
-- you''re right, I created an issue for adding an error message and some contextual help to this page:
Then uploaded, it was really tiny. The image is
converted to 32x32px. I changed "Auto Resize Uploaded
Avatars" to "No" and tried again, this time got an
error message saying image was too big (186x186px).
Resized to 128, uploaded successfully, still appears
-- Yep, it''s just that we''re showing a 32x32 image on that page. However, you can use a 128x128 image in any template you want by using a URL like this for a 64x64 image:
where ''admin'' is the username of the user you want an avatar for.
Right now the maximum size is 128, but your comments make me think that we need to allow for larger images. We''ll look into that.
And on the ''nifty'' list: capture from iSight
-- that would be super cool. Should be easy to allow users to use the photo booth on OS X to grab an image and then export that to their desktop as a JPG, which they can then upload. Lots of steps, we''ll check to see if we can make it easier.
