Clean, quick install of Jive 6 failing

    chpproductteam

I'm following the instructions to set up a new Jive 6 instance on a single new RHEL6 test environment: Quick Installation

The install fails to create the SBS application, and there is no log file written to /usr/local/jive/var/logs/sbs.log to investigate errors.

      [root@GBJIVU01 jive20121107-13636-zf8e1f]# rpm -Uhv jive_sbs_employee-6.0.0.0.RHEL-6.x86_64.rpm

I've also referenced the Troubleshooting Linux Installations page and retried the installation with and without the JIVE_APPLICATION_NOSERVICE environment variable set, but without any luck.

Restarting the httpd service seems ok:

      [root@GBJIVU01 jive20121107-13636-zf8e1f]# service jive-httpd restart

      Stopping jive-httpd:

      OK

      Starting jive-httpd:

      OK

      [root@GBJIVU01 jive20121107-13636-zf8e1f]#

However restarting the application doesn't return the Ok message:

      [root@GBJIVU01 jive20121107-13636-zf8e1f]# service jive-application restart

      Stopping jive-application:

      Starting jive-application:

      [root@GBJIVU01 jive20121107-13636-zf8e1f]#

The file /etc/rc.d/init.d/jive-application is as default from the Jive installation.

Any tips on investigating the cause of this failure would be gratefully appreciated.
