Unfortunately we do not have any 'easy install' guides, as our guides are designed for users with the proper knowledge of their application server and web applications.
Do you have an application server installed? If so, which one? If not, you'll have to get one, our supported app servers are listed here: http://www.jivesoftware.com/products/clearspace/requirements.jsp
If you are having trouble deploying a web application, consult the documentation for your app server.
I have the very same question: I am very interested but not so much of a tech expert. Is there an instruction for Mac OS X Tiger? I actually don't know whether there is an application server installed and/or running (Tomcat??).
I hope, there is help out there, would be very sad, if not ...
any help is greatly appreciated,
You'll most likely need a server that gives you access to three things:
a) a database like MySQL (which I'm sure Cpanel supports)
b) a Java application server like Tomcat or Resin (which Cpanel most likely doesn't support)
c) a directory for data that lives outside your web root (which Cpanel most likely won't support)
I doubt you'll find these offered for shared hosting, you might look to a VPS system. I personally have had great luck with the guys at rimuhosting.com. They'll even install Tomcat for you.
