Enabling registered user blogging in a Clearspace X sub-space

Hi, I'd like to open up one sub-space in our deployment to allow blogging for all registered users.  Is there easy way to "turn this on"?

      thanks

          Hello,

Are you interested in only opening up the ability to post for all registered users, or are you also wanting to give all registered users the ability to create new blogs in that space?

          Thanks,

          Aron

The sub-space would be for blogging (and commenting on other blogs) only.  I'd like to enable permissions (by default) for all reigstered users to start and maintain a blog of their own in only the this designated sub-space.  Blogging in all other spaces would be managed on a case by case basis by the admin as is the default behavior in Clearspace X.

                  Hi,

It sounds like you would want registered users to only be able to create personal blogs (and to comment on existing blogs) within a particular community (subspace).

In Clearspace X, blog permissions management is separated from community (or space) permissions management. While it is possible to create a community blog and restrict particular users (or groups of users) from reading that community blog, there is not a way at present to restrict users from creating personal blogs within particular communities.  You can control which users may create blogs by using the admin console (Blogs -> Permissions, Global Permissions form).

In short, Clearspace does not support enabling permissions by default for registered users to create personal blogs within a given community, and not in others. You may, however, restrict which users and groups may comment on blogs within a given community. Please let me know if you need more information on this topic.

                  Thanks,

                  Aro
