I think what you are referring to is the actual apps market. This shows previous apps that have been installed by a particular user. The reason is that because there was billing involved, this would give you a mechanism to see the historical view. I agree this is a bit confusing and I've opened up a request with our dev team to improve this.
For Jive purposes, I'm tracking this here:
Here are some screen shots of what I am experiecing:
I have developed 2 apps, and was developing a third on our development server:
- Fidelity Stock Quote
- Fidelity Central
- Follow (in development)
When I open my apps, I have the following in my loaded windows:
I am not sure how the Follow app got dupped. I have only added it in the Dev Console once. Also, the icon is not the icon being referred to in the XML. The app showed up in the app market with the correct icon, but the icon went to the default when it was loaded into my apps.
If I click on Manage Apps, I see the following:
Follow was deleted from the Apps Market, but the other two are still available in the market listing, and are still hosted on the same web server that they were on when initially published.
Finally, here is a shot of our Apps Market listings:
As noted above, the Follow app was removed, but the other two remain.
All of the apps in My Apps actually work just fine. I just have these artifacting issues and misleading information.
OK, further information. I had a user that could not upload a picture on this server. It kept telling him the picture size was too lare....97K? oooooo kkkkkkkk...so I started looking and found that the /var partition was at 100% capacity. Someone had a process running amuck and created an 8GB log file. Anyhow, I cleaned up that file, and had to restart all of the services. I got everything restarted and logged back in. All seemed good until I hit the Apps menu item....
I went into the admin console and all the settings are green and I was able to poll the apps market. I am looking in the logs to try to debug what is going on, but I have not found any useful info yet.
Others can get into the Apps window fine. It seems to just be mine that is broken.
this shows up in the jive-httpd-access.log:
10.99.209.130 - - [11/Dec/2012:14:28:41 -0500] "GET /__services/v2/rest/apps/v1/instances?ts=1355254121864 HTTP/1.1" 500 372 0 0 "http://<servername>/actions" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/23.0.1271.95 Safari/537.11" "text/html" 3E92122D0722AD6656AAA994B40C3DA3.
Let's get a supportal ticket open on this. Something's gone wonky and I'd like to get the team to look at it.
I think there's a few issues here.
- The Dev Console installs two icons when you tell it to add an app to the Quick Launcher.
- Apps installed via the Dev Console don't seem to be removed from the Quick Launcher when they are removed.
- The EAE service tries to contact Jive's cloud logging service and fails causing it to continually spam error messages resulting in massive log files if the service is always running (Jive 6 Local Development Environment Issues). Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a fix for this yet.
I should mention that I also get the first and second issues, I always thought it was some known bug in the Dev Console that would be fixed in the future.
Bring the App up from your App Quicklaunch, then click the trashcan at the top of the page. This will remove it from your App Quicklaunch
