    Status documents in Jive

Does anyone have experience with using jive for editing status documents?  We have a lot of project managers that want to do this, but there just doesn't seem to be an easy process on jive 5.  They are used to having the ability to go into a document lock it, edit it and then reupload and unlock to avoid multiple editing at the same time.  I've recently discovered only creators of a group and system admins can lock so that doesn't exactly work.  Any advice would be helpful.

      Thanks.

The best implementation I've seen in this space is the Office connector where you can make updates to an attached word, excel or powerpoint.  Also, if someone else changes it, you get alerted and can incorporate those changes into your doc on the fly.  What also cool is you can see real time comments as you work on the doc.
