    How to decrease the DB Connection timeout to less than 1.0 days?

    jliano

      We are having some issues with Jive not releasing connections until 24 hours later, causing us to run out of connections in the pool.

      There is a setting for the DB connection timeout that I don't see any way to change, does anyone know how to change this?

          Ok, what I would was that this setting can be modified in the jive_startup.xml file, located in ~/applications/sbs/home/

          The unit of measure is days, not sure why. So we're going to be setting it to .1 so that Jive recycles the connections as often as we can.

          Also found this in a JavaDoc:

          setConnectionTimeout

          public void setConnectionTimeout(double connectionTimeout)
          Sets the amount of time between connection recycles in days. For example, a value of .5 would correspond to recycling the connections in the pool once every half day.

          Parameters:
          connectionTimeout - the amount of time in days between connection recycles.
