You didn't mention the version or the source of your "most active group" report - so I will assume you are talking about the Community Manager Report for "Places Activity". From the help section on that report: "The Places Activity graph lists the most active places in the community using the number of views in the last 90 days or date range you select." You can also use the CSV export to get further information on the group activity such as number of edits or responses to the content there. If you are using some other report, please let me know and I will see what I can track down.
As for the group owner being able to see their own ranking within the larger community, we do not support that - the community manager would have to provide that information to the group owners. This can be done pretty easily using the CSV export...
Thanks for the answer, Josh! I don't have access to the Community Manager Reporting suite since I'm only a (very curious!) User Advocate of our Jive instance. Our awesome Community Managers (Hi, Heather Lutz!) have distributed reports that report top ten Most Active Groups as well as top ten Most Viewed Groups, and the groups on both lists are different. Still not sure what determines a group is most active ... perhaps I should ask our Community Managers this question. I suppose it's possible that "most active" is a concept that our Community Managers have created and measure based on metrics they have identified as indicative of "most active." Thanks again, Josh!
Hi Heather, our group is very excited and proud to have landed in the top 10 most viewed groups last month. Now we want to shoot for the top 10 most active groups. Just curious what's is measured to make that determination. Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance.
