- If you would like to test the missions before going live in a Jive environment then I would suggest building out the gamification missions in a Test / UAT environment. Once you are ready to push the missions and badges live you can leverage the 'restore' functionality here:
- Another option is to ask our support team for access to the backend console without installing it into your production instance. That effectively never tracks or disables your out of the box functionality.
- And last but not least - if you would like to migrate points from Jive -> Gamification module, just be sure to let our support team know that is what you would like to do, as long as they have a few days warning then they can move user's points. Or you could just assign 'long term contributor' badges manually to users that have a certain amount of points and then set everyone to 0.
The context of the question was under the assumption that Gamification when switched off, will stop accumulating points for the user. So I was keen on keeping gamification on but hiding it from the user. But just figured out that turning off gamification will still keep accumulating the points while the points are not visible to the user.
