Making the code snippet / syntax highlighting scrollable

We have an external community of very technical members. Some of the code snippets they post are pretty long, so I've had a brief look at some small CSS alterations that would give it a maximum height, and let it scroll.

Inspecting & altering the CSS using Firebug, I made those changes & it does what we want.. however, frustratingly we lose the line numbering in the process. As soon as you turn overflow:y off, the numbers return. Does anyone have any ideas how we can get both

Update; I've sussed this, and in the process, found the original code had a nice little menu for 'view plain' and 'expand source'.. that's located in \resources\scripts\jive\rte\syntax\shCore.js. It's quite simple to bring the menu back (tiny bit of CSS), turn on collapsed as a default (small script change(s)), and have a preview of 250px high (CSS), that expands when they hit 'expand source' (built in!).
