What are the dimensions of the home page? (needed for image size optimization)

    Kara Francis

I am creating some graphics to spruce up our home page.  If I want the image to span the entire width of the widget, what are the ideal image dimensions for the various layouts (see attached)?  I'd like to have my graphic designer create the image with the ideal specifications to optimize the quality.

I recognize that the height could vary depending on how much scrolling I want my users to do.

I've attached the default Jive image when we first upgraded to 6.0 - I like this height.

Is your instance set to fixed or responsive width? If it is fixed then you can just adjust the image width accordingly. If it is responsive you can use CSS to adjust your image. I have created banners using simple style properties such as width: 100%; and height: auto; . Also, you can use max-width or min-width to set limits. This will cause your image to resize based on the user's viewport.

          A basic example would be <img src="" style="width: 100%; height: auto;">

You would want to use an image at its largest size to avoid degradation.
