    How are passwords hashed?

I have a Jive database that I am attempting to authenticate with an external app. I have been informed that the passwords are salted with the user's Creation Date and then hashed using SHA-256. However, I have a user which I know the password of and I can't seem to get the hashed values to match up (therefore can't authenticate). Is there a trick I'm missing? I have tried various combinations of hashing and I'm now at a loss.

      Thanks for any help.
