Security Setting in the Adv Gamification Console
MickT Dec 3, 2013 7:41 AMHi everyone,
I opened this originally as a support ticket, but there is no timeline on fixing or exploring this at the moment.
So, I'd love to hear how others are overcoming this security limitation as they extend gamification outside their Jive community.
Thank you,
Michael

Hi Michael, Yes - This setting must be set to Low for the module to work with Jive's integration with Bunchball. We have not done testing or validated functionality with Medium or High. DavidMichael Torok Dec 2, 2013 1:24 PM (in response to David Bastedo)
Okay... can you tell me when you might do such testing? I really would like to see higher security supported.David Bastedo Dec 2, 2013 4:02 PM (in response to Michael Torok)
I don't have an ETA on this. This has come up in the past, and we've had to set the setting to Low in order to maintain functionality between Jive and Bunchball. You may want to bring this up in the Jive Gamification so that our product managers are aware of this. Do you have some background on what is driving the need to increase the security level on the Bunchball side? DavidMichael Torok Dec 2, 2013 4:13 PM (in response to David Bastedo)
Yes, sure. We have purchased the full license for Bunchball Gamification. We plan to use our thwack database as our system of record on other sites (solarwinds.com, dameware.com, et cetera). We want to communicate securely with the current database of users in thwack from these web properties. Without high security, we have api info and other info being passed in clear text. ...we don't even have the whitelist capability.David Bastedo Dec 2, 2013 5:49 PM (in response to Michael Torok)
Thanks Michael - This makes sense then. Unfortunately I don't have any immediate next steps on this, but I would ask that you post this to the Jive Gamification space to make sure that this gets the attention it needs, as well as to possibly see how others in the Jive Community have dealt with this, as I do know that several other customers are doing something similar to yourself.
