Sounds like a firewall configuration issue. If the clearspace server is responding internally, try to telnet through your firewall to make sure that's set up properly.
$ telnet public_host 8080
Also make sure that you have NAT enabled on the firewall, so that the clearspace server is able to respond.

OK tried the test and ofcourse the port is blocked
I have the port open on the router so what could be the problem??
Apparently the port was blocked or not added to my PC, once added it connected fine.
