    Rendering bug in corev3.search.requestPicker?

    cgum

      This is happening on hosted Jive 7 cloud instance.

      function getContentPicker() {

           osapi.jive.corev3.search.requestPicker({ success : function(data) { console.log(data); } });

      }

      Here's what the result looks like (I've blurred identifying information, that's not the issue, it's the text box)

          Can you share the browser information and other environmental details?

          Also, if this is Cloud, then chances are that it's in our line of Jive 8c# versions.  Can you still recreate this?

          Have you tried this on the official Developer Sandbox?

              The same problem happens in both Chrome and Safari on the Mac and IE9 on Windows, so I think it's probably just a CSS problem.

              It's a cloud-hosted version - Jive version from the admin console: Jive SBS 8.0.0.0 8c1

              I can reproduce this in the sandbox.

              Repro steps (using Chrome)

              1.  Log in

              2.  Click apps

              3.  Click "Jive Developer Documentation"

              4.  Open Chrome console

              5.  Click Console tab (if it's not already in that mode)

              6.  In the Console window, click frame selector drop-down and switch from < top frame > to  __gadget_2(ifr)

              7.  On the Console command line (>), paste "osapi.jive.corev3.search.requestPicker({ success : function(data) { console.log(data); } });"

                Ryan Rutan, this also happens on the sandbox (and all other Jive 7 and cloud environments I've checked) using all browsers.

                I flagged this before Jiveworld last year.

                  Hey Ryan Rutan,

                  I keep getting beat up on this bug (by users/testers) but there's nothing I can do about it because it's in Jive - do you know what release this fix is slated for, or if it is?

                  The problem appears to be that the search box for this dialog and the spotlight search box use the same CSS:

                  .j-tileModal-search, #j-spotlight-search {

                    float: none;

                    display: inline-block;

                    width: 185px;

                    height: 24px;

                    padding-left: 5px;

                    position: relative;

                  }

                  Changing the width to 190px seems to fix the problem with the box wrapping, but the label below it "Type to search all of ..." still needs its margins fixed.

                  This should be a pretty easy CSS fix, though.

                  Thanks
