We recently started sending out a "Showroom Week in Review" email every Friday to let people know what happened on the site during the week. People love it and it has helped us to surface some content that we wouldn't normally announce the company via a system announcement. I definitely recommend this if you're using Jive as your Intranet. Our company is spread out geographically and it's nice to be able to highlight some things that people in offices that aren't in NYC are doing. This is an example of our first email:
I like this idea Christy Conklin!! I love how you tie in existing content from your intranet as well as external links. It creates that bi-directional communication when you are able to link it back to your Intranet from email.
