Here is research we did last year with average engagement stats. The 2014 State of Community Management report will be out next week and a lot more data.
We have stuck with 90-66-50-20 as target for our internal community which is:
90% registered (logged in, of enabled accounts)
66% active (of registered)
Hi Claire, could you give some context around where you got those numbers?
For Jive customers, use this document to figure out your participation ladder Member Adoption and Participation Ladder(s).
You use Jive's CMR, but you need to do a math exercise to put users in discrete buckets (what is the highest participation on average for our members?). I also map in this document the buckets Jive uses to compare nicely to Rachel Happe's The CR research. You want to target either their "average" or "best in class" tiers.
Hey Laura, if you're interested in Benchmark data for external B2B communities, you might want to check out this benchmarking report:
Since Higher Logic focuses primarily on external customer/member facing communities (vs. internal staff facing communities), it's very targeted so I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for. I wrote the report, so feel free to ping me if you have any questions.
