We have established a Help community within our internal instance. It includes help documents, videos, discussions, etc. I, too, was getting a lot of great feedback as an ECM that went beyond the standard help question. I wanted a way to confirm to employees that I received their feedback, while also remaining transparent in case other groups could benefit from these great ideas. I launched a widget featuring a button in our help community, utilizing the quick templates feature. It launches a document with a template or form inside with several cells such as: concept, desired timeline, individual/dept objective (in case Jive PS comes back with an alternate way to accomplish the goal), and stakeholder. From there, the employee and I exchange notes in the comments section. I can execute from there with IT or Jive as needed. So far, it is working really well.
With the new structured outcomes option we're adopting in Jive 7 next month, I'll be able to take this a step further.
Hi Timothy Hales,
The Ideation module could accommodate your needs. But this may be a little overkill just to capture feedback on community enhancements and tracking bugs. If you go that route, I would wait to deploy it until you're ready to receive community feedback on enhancing and shaping your companies products and services.
What does your product team use internally to track bugs? Or your web team? I would leverage what you have in-house if possible. If you have JIRA, Jive offers an integration - http://www.jivesoftware.com/social-business-platform/add-ons/immersive-atlassian-appfusions/
If nothing else, you can always fire up a good ol' spreadsheet
Hi Daniel Marotta,
We are looking to implement the Ideation module later on when we bring in our Ideas portal which supports mainly product/software enhancements. The ideas portal along with our technical support run on Saleforce. I know that there is Saleforce integration with Jive, but I don't know much about it.We have an internal helpdesk platform as well, but I can't see us mixing in these external issues. I like the JIRA/Jive integration. I'll have to check that out. I am using a Jive document table currently, so I hope I don't have to rely on that
A normal group which allows only documents or questions should be fine to gather feedback. Of course one can't vote for these 'ideas' but one can comment, like and/or rate documents.
