LAS VEGAS, Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- JiveWorld14 -- Jive Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: JIVE) today unveiled in front of a record crowd at its sixth-annual customer and partner conference the world's first WorkType™ Finder, a new methodology aimed at helping people understand how best to work together. Drawing on Jive's expertise in enabling modern communication and collaboration, Jive has identified eight essential WorkTypes, and created a simple and intuitive way for people to identify their unique WorkType. By understanding their WorkType, employees can recognize their unique workstyles - the habits and preferences for how they prefer to work - and ultimately leverage this knowledge to work better themselves as well as with their colleagues, partners and customers. At the same time, managers can draw on this information to create more effective teams.
"Technology needs to be built around the needs of human beings...not the other way around," said Elisa Steele, executive vice president of marketing and products, Jive Software. "Jive's new WorkType Finder is not a personality test - rather it is the first tool focused exclusively on how people can work better together. By knowing your own WorkType and those of your colleagues, you can be more effective at connecting, communicating and collaborating. The result is greater productivity, engagement and innovation."
The WorkType Finder guides individuals through a series of straightforward questions. Once completed, the WorkType Finder immediately calculates and provides participants with their primary and secondary WorkTypes. The eight WorkTypes are:
Explorers provide new ideas and fresh perspectives.
Experts help solve the toughest problems.
Planners create the processes to streamline what needs to get done.
Optimizers drive organization to increase efficiency and productivity.
Energizers achieve the impossible.
Producers bring vision into reality and deliver results.
Connectors thrive on meeting new people and bridging gaps.
As part of the initial phase, Jive community members and customers can choose to share their individual WorkTypes on their Jive profile pages so that colleagues can better understand how they work. In addition, people can share their WorkType across social networks, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. People will also receive newsletters with tips, tricks and best practices for their specific WorkTypes.
The WorkType Finder is the first in a broader workstyle methodology coming from Jive that will provide every level of an organization - from individuals and teams to departments and entire companies - with the insight needed to work better together.
The WorkType Finder was introduced today at JiveWorld14, the premier conference for modern communication and collaboration, attended by more than 1,600 Jive customers, developers, thought leaders and technology partners across several industries. This year's program focuses on how people and organizations can work better together and gain competitive advantage through collaborative workstyles.
