Thanks,

mhfoster Nov 10, 2014 12:58 PM (in response to akoplen)Hi Alexis Brown - this space is a great spot to connect, communicate, and collaborate around Jive's gamification (or badging) capabilities. Do you have a specific question or requirements to address?
Other helpful places include the Jive Gamification User Group and the Jive website:

Re: Our community is interested in adding some sort of Champion Badge
akoplen Nov 10, 2014 1:14 PM (in response to mhfoster)Hey Matt Foster,
Thank you for your response! Our community is interested in creating a very simple sort of Champion type badge - given to users who exemplify great work within our internal community and can also be recognized as an advocate. I'm not too familiar with what Jive has to offer, and was curious if there was some quick reference guide. Do any sort of badges exist just within the Admin Console?
Thanks!
Alexis

Re: Our community is interested in adding some sort of Champion Badge
mhfoster Nov 10, 2014 1:49 PM (in response to akoplen)The Jive Advanced Gamification module provides a "data-driven" way to motivate performance within a Jive community. This means if a user performs a set of actions you're trying to encourage (post a document, reply to a discussion, or even just log into the community, etc.) then you can reward them with points and/or badges for performing those tasks. The action list can be seen here:
Gamification Module - Action List
A "challenge" can then be comprised of several actions on this list to earn an achievement (ex: post 5 documents, reply to 10 discussions, log in every day, etc.). These are managed in the "Gamification Console" as seen here:
Jive Gamification Module: Admin Documentation
Jive Advanced Gamification Module: End User Documentation
The question is: what activities are representative of a "Champion" within your community? Once you've defined what someone needs to do in order to earn the badge (assuming it's an objective measure as opposed to subjective), then you can define this within the gamification console. There are a host of other considerations when implementing a program like this, so I would encourage you to explore the community for more insight.

Re: Our community is interested in adding some sort of Champion Badge
akoplen Nov 10, 2014 2:50 PM (in response to mhfoster)Thank you for all of this information!
Currently today within our internal community, we do reward users for performing some sort of action with points and titles (i.e Newbie, Novice, Apprentice, Expert, Master).
We are currently running on 6.0.3, but looking to upgrade in the near future. Is the gamification console only accessible to versions after 6?
In our current Admin Console, I can see People > Status Level Settings.
After we define what represents a Champion, what would be a simply way to reward people with a badge? Based off a certain amount of points a person has received? Or is there a way to manually designate a badge to a person's profile as an admin?
Thanks,
Alexis

Re: Our community is interested in adding some sort of Champion Badge
mhfoster Nov 10, 2014 3:15 PM (in response to akoplen)From the looks of this, you're most likely using the "basic" gamification that comes with Jive out of the box. If you've licensed the Advanced Gamification Module (AGM) from Jive and have appropriate admin rights, you should see the additional capabilities. You may also want to reach out to your Jive Account Manager about points migration and other topics to consider as you move to the AGM.
Here's a release schedule for the AGM (which does include v6.0.3):
The specified item was not found.
If you build a "Champion" mission (or "challenge"), then users who have completed the required tasks will earn that badge. You do have the ability to manually assign badges without requiring users to perform a set of activities. Also, there's been some discussion about how to identify employees with a badge here:

Re: Our community is interested in adding some sort of Champion Badge
mhfoster Nov 12, 2014 10:51 AM (in response to akoplen)Also "role badges" will be included in the next cloud release which sounds like it would be the easiest way to accomplish what you're trying to do (if you scroll down to Curtis Gross comment he gives more detail):
