Hi Noah Wolfe - This is a great question. When you have SSO enabled you will notice that when you go to Admin Console: People > User Search there is a column called Federated which will show Yes for users whose accounts are managed by your SSO system. Non-federated users will show No.
It is recommended that you have an admin user account that is not federated which is active. Because this user is not federated you will not be able to log into Jive using the standard login process on the homepage, since that account isn't managed in your SSO system. In order to log in with non-federated users, you will simply want to go to the admin console and log in there, at <jiveURL>/admin
The admin console login page is a great way to log in as a non-federated user.
Let me know if this helps answer your question.
This is exactly what I needed. Thanks so much David!
Here is the message we get for non-admin accounts when they try to login via admin console:
You're still logged in as a user who doesn't have admin credentials. Before you can log in as an admin, you need to click Logout and end your earlier session.
Any ideas on alternative ways to login for non-federated accounts?
