Safe to use Backbone for custom tiles

we are about to implement a few custom tiles for our community. Now we realized, that the Jive 8 platform has Backbone included nearly everywhere.

Is it recommended/safe to use Backbone for our implementation? It would make development easier, than just using jQuery etc.

      Best regards

In Jive Apps and Tiles you are free to use pretty much any JS library if it helps you.

For our projects, we make extensive use of knockout.js (which offers a subset of backbone functionality, mainly databinding) for example and have used backbone for a few things also.

However, I would recommend to always reference your own version of whatever library you are using (hosted yourself or via google/microsoft/etc CDNS), rather than relying on the Jive provided ones.
