    Active User Question

    bcarpenter@reliaslearning.com

      Hi all!

I've got a quick question re: active users.

So we have 3 metrics that get reported on, Active, Participating, and Contributing.

Does a user who contributes also get counted towards being an active user? Or does the number go towards the highest level of participation?

      Thanks!

          Hi Brett,

For a general breakdown of the definitions please refer to the chart below:

Active UsersUsers who have viewed at least one item in the previous 30 days.
Participating UsersUsers who have commented, liked, rated/voted, edited, or created content in the previous 30 days.
Contributing UsersUsers who have created new content in the previous 30 days. You need to actually create something and not just respond to existing content to be considered a contributing user. For example, you can start a discussion, ask a question, or post a document in order to be considered a contributing user.

As such these are sub-sets of users, so:

all users included in the Contributing counts should also be in the Participating/Active counts

all users in the Participating counts should also be in the Active counts.

          Thanks!
