Jive displays the "title" of a tile in both the view and config states. Below is the Document Viewer tile in the "config" mode. The "Document Viewer" string can be changed by choosing a different "title" for the tile -
Below is the tile in the "view" mode. Here also the "title" is visible-
We have created a number of custom tiles to enable users to quickly create custom pages. These tiles mimic HTML components that would be placed on pages such as navbars, navigation links, footers etc. These tiles represent regular HTML elements and need to present a seamless flow. Having the "title" show up in the "view" breaks the continuity of the flow. We have currently set the "title" fields for all such tiles to empty to ensure the titles do not show up. This has solved our problem for the "view" section.
However without the titles this is how the tiles will show up (below is a custom tile and the Document Viewer tiles both with titles removed) -
We plan to have multiple tiles on a single page, and without titles it becomes difficult to recall which tile is which, when in the "config" mode.
We would like to request one of these features -
1. Provide ability to specify two separate titles - "title-config" and "title-view".
2. Or provide a flag to turn off the title on the view - "showViewTitle" : false. This could be specified in the definition.json
