If my organization utilizes Okta-AD for SSO, could I use a non-Okta account for REST..possibly with basic auth?

So here's my question.. when logging into jive we pass through OKTA -> AD.  If I want to be able to POST/PUT an announcement from say ServiceNow to jive, and I have been given a non AD jive account to use.. is this even possible?  Or would I require an AD service account that passes through Okta??  Forgive my noobiness, just trying to wrap my head around the various pieces at hand.

I think once I can get the account authenticated the POST/PUT should be fairly straight forward.

Anyone have any examples of how they've done it whether from ServiceNow or other?  Suggestions?

Thank you ahead of time for any responses!
