Would you expect to be paid (extra) to contribute on your enterprise social network?

We have encountered a unique adoption issue - an organization's legal team fears that their employees might sue the company for not paying them for the contributions they make to their enterprise social network. Basically, an employee can file a lawsuit against the company if they see their contributions in the social platform has resulted into something beneficial for the company monetarily and if those contributions came outside of the stipulated working hours then they are liable to pay overtime (additional pay) to the employees.

Has anyone come across a similar situation in your organization or anywhere else that you know of? Either ways, would love to hear your thoughts and advice on such a situation.
